Spring Starter Dairy Pellets
Our Sgt Dan Spring Starter Dairy Pellets are designed to help cows with the particularly stressful location period. Proper management of cows in early lactation to help maximise intake and minimise body condition loss will help to set cows up for productive lactation.
These pellets provide a source of high-quality rumen bypass protein. This comes from soya and canola to encourage milk production. They also include New Zealand-grown grains, which provide a valuable source of carbohydrates that supply energy from both rumen microbes and the cow.
Ensuring adequate intake of macro and trace minerals in early lactation is essential to minimise the incidence of metabolic disease. Sgt Dan Spring Starter Dairy Pellets are formulated to provide added calcium, magnesium, sodium and a range of trace minerals. Added chromium is included to help improve the efficiency of glucose utilisation by cells and to help support feed intake in early lactation.
Quick Facts About This Feed
- Typically fed at 2kg per head per day, this feed can be fed at up to 4kg per head per day. Consult a nutritionist if higher feeding rates are required.
- This product is designed to be fed through an in-shed feeding system (or similar) where intakes per cow can be controlled.
- Exercise caution if high levels of other starchy feeds (e.g. wholecrop silage) are being at the same time.
Recommended Feeding Rate
Typically fed at 2kgs per cow per day.
