Nutrition and management of the dry cow in the three weeks pre-calving can affect the production of the cow post calving. Sgt Dan Anionic Pre-Calving Nuts are formulated to help ease the transition from a dry cow to a milking cow.

Formulated with quality New Zealand grown grains, Sgt Dan Anionic Pre-Calving Nuts provide a source of starch to aid in adapting the rumen from high forage diets typically fed in the dry period. A variety of oilseed and protein meals are included to ensure that the nuts provide a minimum of 18% crude protein.

Sgt Dan Anionic Pre-calving nuts contain anionic salts to help reduce the Dietary Cation-Anion Difference (DCAD) and aid in calcium metabolism, while added vitamins and trace minerals are included to support immunity.

Supplied as a 10mm nut the Sgt Dan Anionic Pre-Calving Nuts are easy to feed in the paddock or with silage. This product can also be supplied as a 6mm pellet if required.

When fed at 2kg per cow per day this diet provides:

• 20g of magnesium
• 750mg zinc, 200mg manganese, 260mg copper, 8mg iodine, 10mg cobalt, 8mg selenium, vitamins A and D3 and natural vitamin E
• 10mg Chromium

Recommended Feeding Rate

• Feed at 2kg per cow per day.
• This feed is designed for feeding from a minimum of 14 to a maximum of 21 days precalving. Do not exceed the recommended feeding rates.
• Do not use at the same time as any other selenised fertiliser, prill or product and do not exceed the stated dose or frequency without consulting a nutritionist or veterinarian.
• Do not feed to lactating animals.
